Action motorsports legend Rhys Millen has filed an entry for Rally Colorado, the fifth round of the 2018 Rally America National Championship, taking place this July 20-21 in Rangely, Colorado. Millen and co-driver JR Hartley will enter the event in the UTV Turbo class in the #967 Polaris RZR Turbo built by his own Rhys Millen Racing shop.

“Colorado is a special state for me, having raced there pretty much every year since I was 19 at Pikes Peak,” said Millen. “Having the opportunity in my younger years to race Pikes Peak when it was all dirt, having run the Lands End Hill Climb at Grand Junction, and being a fan of the gravel roads and the natural terrain that the Colorado mountain scape has to offer have been the enticing factors for me to enter Rally Colorado.”

Millen’s list of accomplishments in his illustrious career is a bucket list of major event successes for any racer. He’s held both the world and EV records at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, won multiple Red Bull Global Rallycross race events, performed stunt driving in numerous major films including entries in The Fast and the Furious franchise, and taken part in Red Bull’s New Year, No Limits series. In addition, Millen has also been responsible for factory stage rally efforts in North America and won the Baja 1000 as a UTV driver, making his entry into Rally Colorado a perfect place for him to compete.

Millen joins a UTV Turbo entry list for the event that includes his former GRC teammate Stephan Verdier, as well as an overall entry list that includes championship-leading drivers Dave Brown, Piotr Fetela, and Cameron Steely. He’ll look to conquer the high-attrition Colorado stages that challenged many of the sport’s top racers last year, while simultaneously challenging a number of locally based entries for victory.
