Rally America to Focus on Media Efforts For 2019 Season
Williston, Vermont (December 10, 2018) — Rally America has announced that it will shift focus to a media service for the 2019 North American rally season to better serve the rally community in the United States and Canada. Through extensive original coverage of all major North American events, media and organizational support, and promotional efforts to support competitors and events in the digital space, the Rally America brand will continue as the premier rally brand.

Rally America was initially established in 2003 to support the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) ProRally championship with timing and scoring efforts and later expanded its efforts in 2005 to take over the sport’s commercial and sanctioning rights in the United States. The increased focus on media efforts enables the Rally America brand to focus on core competencies in the media space with the goal of bringing the sport of rally to a larger base of potential fans in North America.
Through its website (rally-america.com) and social media channels, Rally America remains one of the most prolific and important brands in the sport. With an established following of nearly 160,000 fans on key social media networks, Rally America’s following is by far the largest of any United States-based rally media outlet in an increasingly difficult climate for digital growth. Rally America will continue to utilize its resources to promote and share rally content to a devoted fanbase, while working hand in hand with key partners to grow the sport’s audience.
In the 2018 season alone, Rally America not only distributed hundreds of original content pieces to promote the sport, it also re-launched the iconic iRally brand to cover rallying efforts across the globe, including the FIA World Rally Championship. iRally will continue on in 2019 and beyond as it offers a continued look at WRC coverage, as well as other major rally events across the globe.
Chris Leone will remain on board at the media helm of both the Rally America and iRally brands. Leone is the former media director of Red Bull Global Rallycross and has worked with a number of the top rally and rallycross drivers in the world for the better part of the last decade.
“I’m beyond excited to continue what I’ve been doing for Rally America and iRally, and expand our coverage to as many events as possible in 2019,” said Leone. “The rally community has been remarkably supportive of our media efforts this year, and I’ve had a ton of fun working with competitors of all levels of experience this year.
