Heading into the season after making many car improvements in the off-season, Tached-Out Racing driver and owner Corey Salsbery and his co-driver Mike Milos finished their best rally year at the Mt. Hood Rally in Hood River, OR on October 20th. They came into Mt. Hood following a successful Olympus rally, where they gained two second place Open Light Class finishes in both regional events, which pushed them into a 13-point lead in the Northwest Regional Open Light Championship standings.

At the beginning of the Mt. Hood Rally Tached-Out started behind Nate Foley, who was currently second overall in the Open Light NW Championships. Tached-Out chose to start their rally tentatively due to weather conditions and some suspension updates. Despite giving away 15 seconds to the competition, their handling confidence quickly grew stronger and Tached-Out began stage two in attack mode. In the middle of stage 2, a mechanical failure forced the competition off to the side and Tached-Out passed them to seize the Northwest Regional points championship.

“The rest of the morning progressed well,” said Corey, “Our notes were working great. Going into the mid-day service our next goal was to bring home our first class win at rally.”

Checking scores at service, Tached-Out found themselves 12 seconds behind in second. They had been trading times with a car further back in the start order, so they decided to race even harder on the afternoon loop.

“The last three stages felt very good,” said Mike, “We checked into the final control, then service, and everyone came over to the car to congratulate us!”

Tached-out achieved their first class win, a Northwest Regional Championship, and moved up to the fifth-fastest car in the rally! The team is already looking forward to trading times with all the Open Light class competitors at rallies for next year.

Corey and Mike both acknowledged their service team, without which the Mt. Hood rally would not have been a success.

“Thanks to Kyle, Nic, Jeff, Kevin and members of Lawrence's service crew that pitched in. Thanks also to PREracing for their ongoing support this year," said Milos.

In preparation for next season, Tached-Out Racing is actively looking for additional sponsors. If you are interested in jumping onboard with this successful new team, please contact them on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Tached-Out-Racing/185617794895011?fref=ts
