Both team combine resources to compete at Olympus Rally.

The TAGRallySport (TRS) and Noble Star Rally (NSR) teams’ fleet grew to 5 cars parking between the TRS banners during the recent Olympus Rally held on September 22-23 in WA to become the largest rally outfit in a field of 72 cars.

The concept of aiding and supporting other rally teams began with TRS at July’s New England Forest Rally (NEFR). TRS found that they could make a difference helping teams attend and finish tough rally events when they couldn’t do it easily themselves.

Due to the goodwill gained and success from NEFR, TRS recognized that the Noble Star Rally Team was in dire need for help getting to the Olympus Rally in Washington State - the farthest event for the team. It was important for the Noble Star Rally Team to be at Olympus and the team instantly accepted the help TRS offered.

“We knew this event meant a great deal to the NSR team and we wanted to be a part of their journey out to Olympus and also to see them have a great time and finish the rally,” commented owner/driver of TRS, Tracey Gardiner. “We were also very proud of every member of the team and that ALL the teams finished and had fun!”

Both teams traveled 5,500 combined miles to attend the Olympus Rally, the last round of the Rally America National Championship, and each assisted with travel logistics.

“Both NSR and TRS have the common goal of helping grassroots entry level teams join the fast growing world of Stage-Rally and it was nice to know that for this event that TRS needed us just as much as we needed them” said NSR Manager, Kayla Fryatt.

The combined teams also had the privilege of supporting and being associated with Chris Duplessis and Alex Kihurani as the team fought back from behind to secure his third Rally America 2WD National Championship! With TRS’s service support Duplessis was able to stay ahead of Scion Racing’s Andrew Comrie-Picard and Jeremy Wimpey to win the 2WD Class and the 2WD Championship.

Of the 13 cars starting in the Open Light class, all team cars finished with the following results: Corey Salsbery and Michael Milos 2nd in 1996 Subaru Impreza, Agatino Fortunato and Steven Warren 5th in 1997 Subaru Outback, Tracey Gardiner and John Dillon 6th in 2005 Subaru RS and Amanda Skelly and Derrick Rudisel closely behind in 9th in their 1998 Subaru RS.

“There is nothing like going to an event and feeling like you have a place where you are welcome and finally belong. Teaming up with TRS was the best thing that has happened to NSR alongside finishing the event” says NSR Driver Amanda Skelly.
