Motorsports industry veteran Chris Leone has joined the Rally America team to provide coverage of the 2018 Rally America National Championship. Beginning with the Southern Ohio Forest Rally, Leone will contribute frequent coverage of the series, its events, and its competitors in all championship classes. Leone’s Rally America coverage will also appear on the iRally website and social media channels.

“In many ways, this is a homecoming for me, and I’m excited to be a part of the Rally America team,” said Leone. “Before my time in rallycross, I covered my first Rally America event in 2011, and I was surprised and grateful to see just how hands-on the series was in welcoming a kid from Boston who was just starting on his journey. That was a hugely influential and inspiring experience for me, and as someone who has since worked with a lot of first-timers, I’ve always tried to remember that experience and pay it forward for the good of the sport.

“Watching Rally America grow and evolve from a distance over the past few years has been exciting, and now getting to play a part in that  is an honor. With so many evenly matched competitors taking on so many incredible events across America, each RA event weekend is highly unpredictable, and that’s what makes this sport fun.”

Prior to joining the Rally America team, Leone spent five years with Red Bull Global Rallycross, becoming the series’ Media Director in 2014 and producing thousands of articles while also leading its media efforts at and away from the track. He also serves as the Media Manager for Jim Beaver’s Down and Dirty Show, the number one action motorsports radio show in the United States.
