The Olympus Rally moves to September as the last round of the Rally America National Championship. All the marbles are up for grab in Washington State where the crowned roads feature large, sharp rocks and plenty of “gotcha” moments.

The Olympus Rally was part of the first US Rally Championship held in 1973. It later became a World Rally Championship from 1986- 1988. From 2009-2011, the Olympus Rally moved to Ocean Shores, WA on the Olympic Peninsula utilizing scenic coastal stage roads as the only coastal based event on the Rally America National Championship.

For 2012, the Olympus Rally is happy to announce the return “home” to some of the same roads used at the World Rally Championship rounds situated just outside Olympia, WA.

The roads are extremely technical and covered with sharp gravel that wreck havoc to the undersides of a rally car. Teams must keep a lookout for plenty of “gotcha” moments while trying to keep the car centered on the slightly crowned roads.

September typically marks the tail end of summer in the Seattle/Olympia area. Though, it is not unheard of for summer to extend into October, but teams can expect more sporadic weather producing rain squalls rolling in from the Pacific Ocean turning into sun the next minute.
