How did you get started in Rally or Rallycross?
My first experience at all with rally was watching WRC late at night on SPEED. I just loved watching those machines tearing through such pristine landscapes from the helicopter view. I don’t think there is a more beautiful sight in motorsports.
The first time I experienced rally in person was Sno*Drift 2006. A friend I met on a local car club forum was organizing a group of people and they ended up crewing. I was still in college and could only make it up for Saturday and wasn’t able to crew. Although I didn’t get to see a ton, it was enough to keep me coming back.
My first experience with a team was crewing for Paladin at Sno*Drift 2007. It was mostly uneventful, but it was still a good experience.
My first experience in a car was co-driving #240 at LSPR 2011. There is quite a back story with this one. In short, there were a lot of circumstances that came together to make this happen and it was definitely a great way to launch my rally career.
What are your future goals?
I really want to make some serious progress on my rally car build. I haven’t been able to do much with it in the last few years. Circumstances are beginning to look favorable once again. I also want to continue contributing to the success of Finnish Fury Rallysport as a co-driver. We managed to do pretty well on our last outing. There is still a lot of unlocked potential in that team and I’d like to help extract it.
