Conte pilots the multicolored (and duct taped) 1994 Subaru Legacy alongside Ron Erickson, best friends since high school. The car is hard to miss, standing out as one of the visually and audibly loudest cars on stage. After finding the car on Craigslist for a song, Conte has upgraded the car with a refreshed NA engine and transmission. The result is a powerful and robust car that is reliable on stage and quick in the right hands.

Conte/Erickson were featured in the January 2013 issue of Popular Mechanics about the antics that happened during the 2012 Sno*Drift Rally.

How did you get started in Rally or Rallycross?

Wandering down to 100 Acre Wood in 2007 to check out this “race” they were doing near my school. It was cold, raining, and in the middle of nowhere. I had no idea what the cars were, or why they were trying to go so fast on gravel roads. Most of all, I didn’t understand why anyone would want to be outside in the rain and cold all day! I left after a few cars. Had no idea that I would eventually be racing in the same stuff…

What are your future goals?

Gain more experience in the car, staying on the road, pushing hard, and finishing on the podium in class.
